Episode 38 - The Spirits of Tortuga

10th day of March, 2000.

Captain Cognito, Maniac Moose, Davey Jones, Morgan, Quinn, Tew, and John La Foot, sat in the Silver Sloop tavern - back in Tortuga.
They where enjoying a round of rum together and swapping salty-sea stories amongst themselves.

"Arrr, Coggy, I'll never ferget tha time yew got 'ol Cap'n Jons ships blown ta bits fightin' tha Armada" laughed the cheerful Morgan.

The pirates all laughed and raised their tankards of rum.

"Aye, Morgan, and I'll ne 'er ferget tha time yew borrowed some 'o me crew 'n buggered off down tha coast in a rowboat lookin' fer a ship ta plunder" replied the laughing Coggy.

Tew opened another bottle of rum and in his drunken state, proceeded to pour it over La Foot's head - much to the delight of the pirates!
"Haaarrr, who can ferget tha time when 'Enry lopped off the poor head 'o dat Spaniard 'n threw it at La Foot, Haaarrrr!" laughed the gleeful Admiral.

The pirates rolled about laughing their arses off...

"Aye, 'n tha silly swab passed out as 'e caught it!" screamed Davey Jones with delight

"Nay lads, tha best memory 'o all 'is when poor 'ol Cog got his hide kicked by dat wench CupperBut back in Santa Catalina" howled Quinn, to a chorus of laughter.

"Yew bunch 'o swabs didn't see what me parrot did to tha wenches poor bird!" laughed Coggy, wiping the tears from his eye...

The boisterous pirates continued celebrating their memoirs until the tavern door opened…

Looking over to the entrance, they watched, for the 10,000th time; as the next bunch of tourists entered the ancient old tavern and began listening to their tour guide explain the colourful history of the place.

"And this is the place where all those infamous pirates spent most of their ill-gotten gains, 360 years ago" explained the guide.

"We'll never know what really happened during their voyage after they destroyed Cartagena - but rumour has it that they found the Dutch treasure and lived out their lives in drunken splendour with 100 wenches at their beck and call..." she said.

The pirates raised their tankards and proposed a toast; "To an eternity of drunken splendour!" they all called in unison.

A cold shiver spread through the curious tourists as they looked around the old tavern and studied the memorabilia and portraits of the pirates hung around the oak walls.

The pirates gave a sly wink to one another, and continued recounting their memories, forever...
